The bad news is that I will have to spend a ton to finish purchasing the cards I want. Sure, the good news is my current collection has gone way up in value. I am now coming back to it again to play and finish putting together my collection and I am blown away at the prices I am seeing on cards from UNL, ARN, ANT, LEG. Then I had a couple kids and life got busy and Magic got shelved. I put together a solid collection of mostly older cards during this period (4-5 years ago). My favorite cards are the oldest cards due to nostalgia. I was overwhelmed with power creep but eventually came to terms with it. About 4-5 years ago I came back to Magic (casual only) and started collecting again. Later I chose to sell off the collection as I got busy with life. I first played MTG back during Revised / Fallen Empires and put together a collection including many of the oldest cards. I intend to play with all of my cards (double sleeved for expensive ones), but I still enjoy the collecting aspect and I look for NM cards.
I would consider myself to be a hybrid collector/player.
I am a very nostalgic, casual player/collector who enjoys great artwork and the skill/fun of MTG. I am not looking to speculate or make a profit. Hey guys, just looking for some opinions/advice.
